Join the fun Sunday May 25th at Simaril Farm for Fleece and Fibrefest!
Meet the breeders and producers of rare fibre bearing animals such as alpacas, llamas, cashmere and angora goats, angora rabbits and fine fleece sheep.
Witness how raw fibre is carded, spun and knit or woven into wonderful garments and yarn.
Visit with friendly goat kids and lambs, hold newly hatched chicks, play in the mountain of straw and a sand box filled with corn.
Watch on-going shearing demonstrations of sheep and angora goats. Even Norman the alpaca is in for his annual haircut.
Niagara Culinary Institute student Jon McLaughlin will prepare a special dish featuring Silmaril Farms lamb. Jon will demonstrate how easy it is to turn a simple dish into something special. Come out for a sample of his culinary art.
Visit and shop with some of the many vendors who will display their finished product including mohair, cashmere, alpaca, angora and wool fibres and yarns.
Silmaril Farm is located at 144 Russ Road in Grimsby, Ontario. Exit the QEW at Christie Street and travel south up the escarptment. Turn left onto Elm Tree and left on to Russ Road. Silmaril Farm is part way between Ridge and Elm Tree.
