You will remember Manuela's story vividly; she went with her family to visit relatives in Colombia.  There were difficulties with documentation and Manuela, who was 9 years old at the time, was not allowed to return home with her parents.  They had to return to Canada without her and continue the "fight" to have her returned home.  As well as emotional suffering, Manuela's family incurred huge legal debts that are ongoing today.

The parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Community are hosting a benefit concert to assist the family financially and emotionally.  It features the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir and will take place at 8:00 pm on Friday, May 23, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 20 Idlewood Avenue, Hamilton Mountain.  Tickets are $10 each and proceeds will go to Manuela's family.  Tickets are available at Credo Books, 1000 Upper Gage Avenue. They invite all to plan a family or group outing for an evening of joyful music.
