Dick Clark, Oak Ridge Boys To Receive Non-Televised Acm Awards

Dick Clark, the Oak Ridge Boys, Bill Anderson, Brenda Lee, Conway Twitty and Porter Wagoner are among the recipients of Academy of Country Music Awards that will not be televised during the show's 43rd annual awards on May 18th. The Academy will present the Special Awards at a special event in Nashville later this year.

Clark will be presented with the Jim Reeves International Award, which is presented to an individual for outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world. Past recipients include Merv Griffin, Roy Clark, Garth Brooks, and Buck Owens.

Bill Anderson and Fred Rose will be honored with the first-ever Poet's Award, which honors songwriters for outstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their careers in the field of country music.

The Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award will be bestowed on Brenda Lee, the Oak Ridge Boys, Conway Twitty, and Porter Wagoner. These individuals are considered pioneers in the country music genre. Past recipients include Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bob Wills, Tex Ritter, Charlie Pride, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, George Jones, Dolly Parton and Alabama.
